The Green Burial Experience

Brian Flowers, current President of the Green Burial Council, and a family service advisor with TheMeadows Natural Burial Ground took over a breakout session and delivered a warm, frank, loving story about a natural burial at The Meadows.  The story in many ways is similar to the beautiful and meaningful closers we have seen at Prairie Creek Conservation Cemetery.

Brian gave a short but telling explanation as to how he got involved with the natural burial movement and how a large operation like the Moles family can make this option a viable and meaningful one for all parties involved.

TAKE AWAY:
  • He has found an audience for natural burial is coming from these groups, Christian Stewardship movement, Quakers, Farmers, and anyone  with a relationship to the land.
  • Many cremation minded people are changing to Natural Burial when shown it is simple, direct, and what we have been naturally doing since the beginning of mankind.
  • The Green Burial Council adds a layer of trust and confidence
  • The meadows uses a 100 year old 4 wheel bicycle as their walking hearse.
  • Their Funeral home is now called Memorial Tribute Center
  • At the meadows they keep burial sites mounded as they settle.
